Great Gift Ideas for RVrs

UpClose RV

With the holidays quickly approaching and gift giving starting to ramp up, we thought we would talk about gifts for RVers. With limited space and always on the go, the weary road warriors are want not to be too appreciative of big bulky items and more prone to love things that ease their travel and mobile living lifestyle.  Below are a couple of great gift ideas as recommended from several sources.  After living two years full-time in my trusty travel trailer Bell, I can attest that anything that simplifies a chore or makes life more comfortable while living in a confined space is truly appreciated.   Below is a list of items that do just that.

Weather Station

Inclement weather is a concern for RVers. It is important to know if bad weather is approaching, what the temperature will be and will it rain or snow. High winds, precipitation, low visibility, etc…can pose significant white knuckle driving. A weather station is a great safety feature by allowing the RVer to make sound decisions when traveling.  Not only that, it will show that you care for the wellbeing and safety of your camper. The prices vary depending on attributes and function, but plan on spending about $100. What better way to say I love you.

Pay for a nights stay

Okay so this is a little self-serving on our part.  But even if you don’t use UpCloseRV.com expenses on the road can be frustrating.  Picking up the tab for a night or two will definitely be appreciated.  Especially, if it will facilitate making a great memory or experience. The national average for a night’s stay is about $40.

Treat their pet right

Many RVers have their beloved pets with them and are always in need of pet food, pet treats and pet supplies. If you know what type of pet they have, send them the appropriate treats, toys or supplies and make their day brighter. Maybe consider paying for a local groomer to help clean up the travel dust their family member has accumulated while on the road.  There is nothing happier than a clean pet.

Camping Multi-Tool

So this is a great gift for any traveler.  We don’t know how many times we have had to do a quick repair, tighten, or cut something and didn’t have an appropriate tool to do so.  A good multi-tool will definitely make your favorite travelers life easier.  After all, no one wants to have to stop and rifle through the camper cubby for a simple fix. The Leatherman Tread Bracelet looks cool and convenient.  You can get it for about $150.

RV Commemorative Ornaments

Help your RV friends spark memories with ornaments that commemorate their special travels.  An internet search will yield a lot of results.  CVS and Cracker Barrel have some generic ones if you are a little crafty could personalize them for your campers. Make it a yearly thing and you can save some of the stress of trying to figure out something new year after year. Most RVers have a small Christmas tree they put up each year, many even decorate their campers.

Gift Cards

If you just don't know what to get, then get them a gift card! It may not have the personal touch of one of the gifts mentioned above, but they are always appreciated nonetheless. Gift cards area convenient way have immediate access to those great impulse buys while on the road.

HitchSafe HS7000T Hs7000 Key Vault. We thought this thing was really cool.  Use your hitch as a secure place to store important items. Portable Fire Ring

What is camping without a camp fire?  A portable fire ring makes sure that you can take the campfire with you and be safe about it.  Home Depot has a propane one for about $100.  We think this is a good option just because it is easier to keep clean.  However, if you love the smell of a real wood fire there are other options out there.
